Salary: USD 125,000 - 165,000 / annual

Lunar Energy is building clean energy products to electrify homes and create virtual power plants. We're seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to own the design and development of power conversion systems from concept through manufacturing. You will be responsible for detailed design of power electronic systems ranging from 10W to 10kW, including DC/DC converters, offline isolated power supplies, and inverters. Your work will span topology selection, semiconductor and magnetics design, schematic design, PCB layout, EMC optimization, and safety design. You'll create verification and validation test plans for components and complete systems, bring up prototypes, and optimize performance across critical characteristics. This is a start-to-finish ownership role where you'll collaborate across mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware engineering teams to deliver optimized products. You'll conduct lab testing and validation using industry-standard tools and techniques in high-voltage, high-current environments. You'll have the opportunity to shape product vision and contribute to meaningful climate impact while working with a team building world-class hardware. **Requirements:** - Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5 years' experience in power electronics design (M.S. or Ph.D. with power electronics focus preferred) - Detailed understanding of active and passive component losses in power conversion and mitigation strategies - Experience designing high-efficiency, high-density power converters with wide bandgap devices - Familiarity with various topologies (two-level, multilevel, soft switching) and ability to select and design for specific applications - Knowledge of sensor design for real-time converter parameter measurement in noisy environments - Familiarity with magnetics design, core materials, winding structure, and insulation strategies - EMC design and optimization expertise, including PCB layout and filter design - Ability to design schematics and conduct or review power conversion layouts - Strong lab skills with oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, sources, loads, and experience with high-voltage/high-current testing **Helpful Skills:** - Experience with high voltage, current, and power systems - Power converter simulation and familiarity with simulation tools - Knowledge of global safety and EMC certifications - Background in solar, energy storage, EV, or EV charging industries - Embedded control and microcontroller programming - Understanding of mechanical and thermal considerations
