Payoneer, a global financial platform founded in 2005, is seeking a Portfolio Risk Lead for its China/APAC region. This senior individual contributor role owns the regional risk posture with focus on portfolio performance, key risk indicators, and cross-functional alignment within the Portfolio Risk Intelligence pillar. Key responsibilities include owning the regional portfolio risk view for China/APAC with emphasis on fraud and AML domains. You will monitor, analyze, and explain regional performance across key risk indicators including Risk Blocked Volume (RBV), fraud trends, and account/payment-level indicators. The role requires identifying and assessing emerging regional risk patterns, typologies, and behavioral shifts, then translating complex data into clear, structured insights and actionable recommendations. You will partner with Signals and Controls teams to ensure effective detection and mitigation of regional risks, serving as the regional subject matter expert and point of contact for Business/GTM, Product, Compliance, and Operations teams. You'll contribute to risk narrative and reporting for senior stakeholders across regional and global forums. The position operates with high independence and limited day-to-day direction, influencing cross-functional decision-making across product, compliance, and business teams. You'll act as the regional authority on risk trends and performance, bridging regional dynamics with global portfolio risk strategy, with direct impact on key Compliance KPIs. Required experience includes 7+ years in fraud risk, AML, or payments risk management, and portfolio-level risk analysis or monitoring environments. You must demonstrate proven experience owning or deeply influencing risk metrics/KPIs, working with large-scale data and risk trends across portfolios or regions, and identifying and translating complex patterns into structured insights. You should operate independently in ambiguous environments, prioritize across competing risk signals and business needs, and influence stakeholders without direct authority. Communication expectations include presenting to senior internal stakeholders (Director/VP level or equivalent) and simplifying complex risk topics into clear narratives. Experience working across cross-functional teams (Product, Compliance, Operations) and regional or global structures is essential. Preferred qualifications include experience working in or covering China/APAC markets and knowledge of regional regulatory and risk environments, particularly in fintech.
