Buena (backed by Google Ventures) simplifies real estate in Germany by acquiring property management companies and transforming them into technology-driven businesses. The company has grown to become Germany's third-largest property management firm in just three years with a lean headquarters team, and continues expanding through monthly acquisitions.
As Portfolio HR Lead, you will oversee HR operations for 400+ employees across Buena's Berlin headquarters and portfolio companies throughout Germany. You will build HR systems and processes from the ground up to support growth to 1,000+ employees, manage the Personio HRIS platform across all locations, and ensure data quality. You will engage directly with managing directors of portfolio companies to improve HR processes nationwide, and advise the headquarters leadership team and property management team on employment law matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and rolling out scalable HR systems and people processes across Germany
- Managing the Personio HRIS platform and overseeing data quality across all locations
- Meeting with portfolio company leadership to improve HR processes
- Providing employment law guidance to headquarters leadership and property management teams
- Building and leading your own HR team

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years full-time HR experience, with demonstrated ability to build processes from zero and take full ownership
- Minimum 2 years in high-growth environments (VC-backed startups or PE-backed companies)
- Native German language proficiency
- Strong process orientation and employment law expertise
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Willingness to work in-office in Berlin
