Payward Services, the enterprise infrastructure platform behind Kraken, is seeking a Platform Product Operations Lead to own operational execution for a B2B2C regulated fintech business. This is a high-leverage, jack-of-all-trades role combining strategy, product operations, and regulatory compliance. You will own platform product operations and launch readiness for B2B2C products including KYC/KYB, lending, and unified APIs. You'll gate go-lives against regulatory and operational requirements, build scalable operations that enable fast product shipping, and dive deep into product mechanics—understanding flows, identifying breakpoints, and determining what's needed to launch in regulated markets. Day-to-day responsibilities include running operations across US regulated entities, managing licensing maintenance, operational risk and incident management, outsourcing coordination, audit and examination readiness, and board/executive reporting. You'll act as the functional operating lead (functional-COO equivalent) for these entities. You'll drive cross-functional execution on roadmap milestones, compliance deliverables, and infrastructure work—running complex programs across Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and external partners. You'll lead operational work behind US licensing workstreams (state money transmitter and lending licenses), partnering with Legal and Compliance to translate regulatory requirements into governance processes, controls, and documentation that examiners expect. You'll serve as the operational counterpart to regulators and examiners, handling information requests, supervisory queries, incident notifications, and follow-up actions. You'll represent the operational side of regulated entities in board, regulatory, and executive discussions, championing a high-leverage operating model through core metrics, systems improvements, and elevated approaches to building and scaling regulated B2B products. Required: 8–12 years of experience with roots in strategy consulting (MBB, Big 4, or boutique) and proven operational execution in-house. You need time operating inside a scaling fintech, bank, or crypto firm in roles like special projects, chief of staff, operations strategy, business/product operations, or operations lead—with a track record of taking on scope beyond your title. Experience running or supporting B2B/B2B2C businesses in tech, ideally platform teams with shared infrastructure and partner models. You're a genuine jack-of-all-trades comfortable diving into product mechanics with Product and Engineering teams. You have working familiarity with the US regulated financial landscape and understand supervision and examination. You've set up or worked with compliance programs including KYC/KYB onboarding. You can run complex cross-functional programs with no formal authority and pick up work outside your job description. You apply rigorous governance and control standards while remaining pragmatic, distinguishing between controls that protect the business and procedures that add friction. You're an excellent communicator across regulators, boards, engineers, and commercial partners, comfortable with ambiguity and a broad remit. Nice to haves: hands-on experience supporting or leading regulatory-change programs end-to-end; crypto or digital-assets experience in industry or through regulated product launches; founder, GM, or early operations hire experience at a fintech or crypto startup.
