finmid is building infrastructure that integrates access to capital for SMEs directly into the platforms they use daily. The company combines regulated financial infrastructure with modern software engineering, operating across Europe with a Latvian subsidiary licensed as a European Crowdfunding Service Provider by the Bank of Latvia.
As a Platform Engineer, you will own the infrastructure that enables the entire engineering organization. This is a high-impact role focused on designing and building systems from scratch, not maintaining existing ones. You'll architect cloud infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines, evaluate and integrate new tools, and partner with product and business teams to remove bottlenecks and accelerate shipping.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes
- Building and improving CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and internal platforms
- Evaluating, integrating, and rolling out new tools and services across the company
- Partnering with product and business teams to identify and remove bottlenecks
- Owning production systems end-to-end, from design decisions through incident response
- Raising the bar on security, observability, and engineering standards

REQUIREMENTS:
- Hands-on experience with containers, orchestration, and cloud platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, or similar)
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code
- Strong communication skills; ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
- Pragmatic problem-solving approach
- Growth mindset and desire to stretch beyond routine work
BONUS:
- Experience in financial services, payments, or regulated environments
- Familiarity with microservices on JVM runtime
- Track record of driving projects from idea to production
- Experience in distributed/remote teams
