House Rx is a venture-backed specialty pharmacy company on a mission to make specialty medications more accessible and affordable for patients. We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist with specialty experience to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at our Asheville, NC location. In this role, you will be a pivotal member of the House Rx team, working closely with specialty care clinics to optimize outcomes for specialty patients and improve the overall pharmacy experience. You will have direct accountability for pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge with accountability for licensure, controlled substance oversight, and regulatory inspections - Ensure compliance with all territory, state, and federal pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA standards, and applicable accreditation requirements - Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure accurate dispensing, patient safety, and adherence to clinical protocols - Maintain and enforce policies and procedures for prescription processing, drug storage, and security - Lead audits, maintain records, and coordinate responses for regulatory bodies and accrediting organizations - Supervise and train pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to ensure quality standards and continuing education compliance - Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to support coordinated patient care, including formulary optimization and medication access - Investigate and resolve medication incidents, ensuring proper documentation and continuous quality improvement - Ensure proper inventory management, including procurement, temperature-sensitive drug handling, and recall processes - Participate in strategic planning to support pharmacy growth, service line expansion, and value-based care initiatives - Act as the pharmacy's clinical expert, supporting patient counseling, therapeutic substitution, and prior authorization reviews - Serve as the workflow expert across all aspects of the pharmacy from prescription receipt to dispensing You will work in a startup environment, helping to build workflows and processes from the ground up while collaborating with a talented team of entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, and technology builders. Requirements: - Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent advanced degree - Active, unrestricted pharmacist license eligible to become PIC in North Carolina - Leadership experience in a pharmacy; PIC experience preferred - Experience navigating specialty medication benefits investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance - Knowledgeable about specialty medications with willingness to learn new therapeutic areas - Proficiency in common pharmacy software systems (QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx, WAM, etc.); experience with EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, NextGen) or specialty pharmacy systems (Therigy, Asembia, ScriptMed) is a bonus - Comfortable engaging with patients, providers, and care team members both in-person and over the phone - Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail - Creative problem-solving ability and initiative-taking mindset with ability to promote teamwork and collaboration
