Soda is a data quality monitoring platform serving Fortune 500 companies (Disney, Ralph Lauren, CBRE, HelloFresh, 2K Games, Nubank) and open-source users (Tesla, Slack, Adyen, Walmart, JPMC). The company is hiring a Performance Marketer to own paid acquisition end-to-end, reporting to a co-founder.
This is a full-stack paid marketing role. You will own the entire paid acquisition function: strategy, creative production, campaign execution, budget management, and performance analysis. You'll work across LinkedIn, Meta, Google, Reddit, ChatGPT, X, and emerging channels. You are responsible for writing ad copy, creating static and video assets, building landing pages, launching campaigns, managing budget, and analyzing results to kill underperformers. The role emphasizes a rapid testing cadence—hypothesis, ship, read, iterate—with the understanding that most tests will fail and that volume of experimentation is the job itself.
You'll collaborate with founders, customer engineers, and customers to shape Soda's market positioning. You own the pipeline and qualified meeting targets, not vanity metrics. The role requires hands-on creative production (not delegating to agencies or designers), technical self-sufficiency (landing pages, tracking, conversion APIs, UTMs, CRM), and credibility when selling to data engineers and CDOs.
The company is fully remote with offices in Brooklyn, operates across 12+ countries, and offers equal compensation regardless of geography.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience running enterprise B2B paid acquisition at a startup or growth-stage technical company (data, infrastructure, developer tools, security, observability). Must have managed long sales cycles, buying committees, and high contract values without brand leverage.
- Experiment-obsessed: demonstrate a rigorous testing cadence with specific examples of tests run, hypotheses tested, failures learned from, and campaigns killed. Most tests should have lost.
- Personal creative production: must provide examples of ads you personally created, including cost and return data. This is described as "the most important line in this ad."
- AI-first approach: use frontier models to produce and iterate creative at volume; articulate specifically where AI improved results and where it fell short.
- Budget ownership: demonstrated spend authority and track record of hitting pipeline/revenue targets.
- Technical self-sufficiency: comfortable with landing pages, tracking, conversion APIs, UTMs, CRM systems. Must not require engineering support for unblocking.
- Data fluency: credible when communicating with data engineers and CDOs; no need to be technical but cannot sound unfamiliar with the domain.
- Clear written communication: most of the job is words on a page that drive decisions in seconds.
GOOD TO HAVE:
- Background in data quality, data management, or data observability.
- Built attribution models in addition to running ads.
- Founder or first-marketer experience where you had to own everything.
- First paid hire at a company, building the function from zero.
