Salesforce is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) in Performance Engineering to join the Digital Marketing Technology team in Hyderabad. This role focuses on building tools, services, and processes to improve scalability, performance, and developer productivity across Salesforce's corporate web presence and digital experience platform.
You will own the performance framework, delivering automated enhancements and championing best practices across the engineering group. Key responsibilities include creating self-service tools to enhance application performance, developing proofs-of-concept for emerging technologies, and establishing performance testing processes that support fast development and deployment cycles.
Required qualifications include 6+ years of software development experience with deep expertise in performance engineering and automation. You must have extensive hands-on experience with performance testing tools (Apache JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, Artillery, Puppeteer, Cucumber, or similar), strong programming skills in languages like Ruby, Java, Go, or Python, and proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS). Additional requirements include experience with monitoring tools (New Relic, Dynatrace, AppDynamics), version control (Git), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI), database optimization (SQL/NoSQL), web technologies and protocols, and Agile/DevOps practices.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Heroku, Salesforce metadata management, Salesforce CI/CD pipelines, and Salesforce Administrator certification. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. This is a technical leadership role for an experienced engineer who can drive performance innovation and mentor others through establishing best practices and tooling.
