Booksy is a rapidly scaling, cloud-based marketplace connecting independent service providers (beauty, wellness, creative professionals) with customers across multiple countries. The company is hiring a People Systems & Automation Engineer to build automations that free the People & Culture team from administrative work.
In this role, you'll report to the Head of People Technology and own end-to-end automation projects. Your responsibilities include:
- Building integrations and workflows against live systems: BigQuery, Google Cloud, Apps Script, and HR/hiring platform APIs
- Deploying LLMs (Claude, Gemini) into production workflows with appropriate guardrails and human checkpoints
- Designing configurable automation engines rather than one-off scripts, which you'll maintain long-term
- Partnering with People & Culture process owners to translate their workflows into buildable solutions
- Tracking and reporting the hours and cost savings your automations generate
The company has mapped over 200 processes and operates on the principle: automate the admin, keep the judgment human. You'll be leveled and mentored within the Product & Tech function alongside an existing engineer.
Essential qualifications:
- Strong BigQuery and SQL skills (tested early in the process)
- Expert-level workflow automation experience (multi-step scenarios, branching, data stores, error handling, webhooks)
- Practical production experience with LLMs, structured outputs, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop design
- Discretion handling sensitive data (pay, performance, candidate info) in compliance with GDPR
- Conversational English fluency (company language for all business communications)
Desirable experience:
- Working code ability in JavaScript (Google Apps Script) and/or Python
- Google Cloud experience (Firebase, AI Studio)
- Change management experience guiding non-technical teams through workflow transitions
Booksy is distributed globally with a remote-first culture. The role is based in Spain with flexibility between remote and office access.
