This is a senior individual contributor role focused on shaping talent strategy and organizational development for Datadog's Engineering function. You'll own end-to-end design and delivery of complex talent programs spanning leadership capability building, career architecture, organizational design, performance management, internal mobility, and succession planning for critical roles.
You'll partner directly with People Business Partners and senior engineering leaders to translate ambiguous strategic challenges into clear program goals, design principles, and measurable outcomes. A key focus is understanding how AI is reshaping engineering roles, skills, and ways of working—and translating those shifts into practical talent and organizational design choices.
This is a build-and-run role, not strategy-and-handoff. You'll stay hands-on from concept through adoption, working across Enablement, Learning, People Analytics, and People Systems to ensure programs scale and embed into core people processes. You'll equip PBPs with frameworks, tools, and executive-ready narratives that drive real adoption in the business.
You'll operate in ambiguity, influence without formal authority, and build trust with senior stakeholders before answers are clear. You're equally comfortable setting direction and diving into detail, moving fluidly from strategy to execution. You're data-fluent, pragmatic, and outcome-focused with a strong bias toward delivery and follow-through. You build consensus, challenge constructively, and maintain credibility across differing perspectives.
Ideal candidates have designed and delivered talent programs in fast-growing, global organizations and partnered directly with executives on strategic people questions. You should be comfortable with both strategic framing and hands-on execution, and able to evaluate impact using qualitative and quantitative data to refine your approach based on actual business needs.
