Gusto is seeking an experienced People Partner to support the Product and Design organizations. This is a high-ownership role that blends strategic business partnership with hands-on execution, serving as a trusted advisor to leaders across cross-functional, fast-moving teams.
Day-to-day responsibilities include building trusted partnerships with Product Management and Design leaders to understand team dynamics, surface friction early, and navigate performance management, promotions, leveling, and employee relations. You'll synthesize People data—engagement surveys, performance cycles, attrition signals, headcount trends—into clear, actionable insights for leaders. You'll support and operationalize core talent programs including performance cycles, calibration discussions, promotion processes, and manager enablement.
The role requires reinforcing high performance standards and accountability across Product and Design, serving as the liaison between these organizations and Gusto's broader People team (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, L&D, People Ops). When organizational changes are decided, you own end-to-end execution: transition planning, communication sequencing, Workday updates, leader enablement, and follow-through until resolution.
