Salary: USD 119,600 - 157,000 / annual

As a People Partner, you will be the trusted talent advisor for an assigned client group (function or department), reporting to the Director of People Business Partners. This is a full-ownership role combining strategic HR partnership with hands-on people operations. Key responsibilities: - Serve as the trusted People partner to function leadership, owning org design, workforce planning, and talent strategy; make tradeoff decisions balancing people and business priorities. - Lead complex employee relations investigations and high-stakes performance situations independently, ensuring care, candor, and legal compliance. - Adapt and deliver company-wide talent management and L&D programs (performance management, career progression) to your function, measuring real impact on team outcomes. - Coach managers and leaders through team scaling, reorganizations, and performance complexity, building their capability to lead effectively. - Use workforce data, sentiment analysis, and talent reviews to identify capability gaps and succession risks; translate insights into actionable recommendations. - Build trust through sound judgment and mentor newer People Partners, strengthening the broader People Partner team. The role requires 5+ years as a People Partner in high-growth tech, with demonstrated expertise in complex employee relations, org design, and workforce planning. You must have strong grounding in US employment law (Title VII, ADA, FMLA) and deep knowledge of California employment law. You should be able to translate company-wide People frameworks into function-specific contexts while preserving their intent. Nice-to-haves include experience building or improving People programs (performance management, career progression, compensation), partnering with Finance on headcount budgeting, hands-on use of AI tools for People workflows, strong analytical fluency with People data (building your own models for attrition, pay equity, span of control), and experience designing or scaling L&D and talent management programs. The role is based in Los Angeles and requires 5 days per week in the Suno office, with up to 10% travel to other Suno locations.
