You will maintain Rippling as the system of record for employee records, job and compensation changes, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and reporting. Regular data audits and discrepancy resolution with payroll and finance teams are essential. Compliance responsibilities include monitoring and executing Federal, California, and San Francisco obligations: new hire documents, I-9s, leave administration, fair chance notices, and reporting requirements like EEOC or California Pay Data Reporting. You'll partner with the HRBP on operational components of employee relations, leaves, accommodations, and separation workflows. You'll draft and maintain standard HR documents including offer letters, notices, and policy acknowledgments, building or rebuilding processes to increase efficiency and employee support. Required: 3-5 years HR operations experience in California with exposure to high-volume hourly and exempt populations throughout their employment lifecycle. Fluency in Rippling, strong knowledge of California wage and hour law (overtime, meal/rest breaks, final pay, regular rate calculations), and experience administering group health benefits. Exceptional attention to detail, process ownership, and ability to create and refine processes in a high-growth environment scaling from 300 to 500+ employees. Bonus: San Francisco-specific compliance familiarity (HCSO, SF PPLO, Fair Chance Ordinance), startup/high-growth experience building processes from scratch, and HR generalist background.
