This role sits at the intersection of People Operations and Workplace Experience for Airwallex's Paris/Berlin/Barcelona office cluster. You will serve as a critical on-the-ground partner ensuring core HR operations run smoothly while building a strong, engaging in-office culture during rapid EMEA growth.
Key responsibilities include owning onboarding and offboarding end-to-end; serving as primary point of contact for HR inquiries via ticketing system; maintaining accurate HRIS and payroll data including EOR platforms; supporting payroll processes with audits and discrepancy resolution; administering benefits programs and ensuring regulatory compliance; overseeing day-to-day office operations (supplies, vendors, access, equipment); acting as front-of-house presence for visitors and deliveries; supporting employee engagement initiatives and culture-building; identifying workflow inefficiencies and driving process improvements and automation; and gathering employee feedback to translate into actionable insights.
You bring foundational generalist HR experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments with a passion for culture and team building. You have strong working knowledge of local HR practices, particularly benefits and compliance. You're a hands-on, detail-oriented operator comfortable with admin-heavy workflows and experienced supporting payroll processes including variable compensation. You're confident managing ambiguity and building processes from scratch.
Preferred experience includes proficiency with startup tech stacks (Slack, Zoom, Lattice, Atlassian), familiarity with HRIS/EOR/payroll platforms (BambooHR, Deel), and exposure to workplace experience in hybrid environments. The role is hybrid based in Barcelona, 4 days per week in office.
