Relay is a digital banking platform serving self-made business owners with financial clarity and cash flow management tools. The People Operations & Systems Specialist will own the operational and technical infrastructure for the People team, solving two interconnected problems: a fragmented People tech stack with data silos and manual handoffs, and the lack of a dedicated operational owner. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing onboarding/offboarding logistics, systems administration, employee data accuracy, and ad hoc People requests. You'll own People data end-to-end—maintaining headcount, attrition, compensation, and hiring metrics—and build self-serve dashboards in Rippling or connected tools. You'll run analyses to surface trends and risks, prepare board materials and executive reporting, and serve as the responsive point of contact for operational asks. You'll map every People process (onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, benefits enrollment, performance cycles) end-to-end, identifying automation opportunities and building a prioritized roadmap. You'll own the full People tech stack (Rippling, Gusto, Ashby, CultureAmp, Notion, Google Suite, and benefits platforms), building and maintaining integrations using native connectors and automation tooling. Vendor relationship management, contract negotiations, ROI tracking, and system documentation are core responsibilities. The role emphasizes practical AI adoption to automate recurring workflows, reduce manual reporting, and surface insights. You'll experiment with new HR and People tech tools, staying current with emerging capabilities. You're a strong fit if you have 2-4 years of hands-on experience owning and improving systems, shipping automations others depend on, and are genuinely data-minded. You're comfortable at the configuration and integration level of People technology, curious about technical layers, and motivated by eliminating pain points rather than documenting workarounds. You care about employee experience and understand that operational quality shapes how people feel about working somewhere.
