Varda Space Industries is seeking a People Operations Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of the People function at this commercial space infrastructure company. Based in El Segundo, California, you'll be a key point of contact for candidates, new hires, employees, and managers, helping to create a seamless experience across the entire employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Human Resources Administration: Coordinate new hire onboarding from offer acceptance through first-day experience, ensuring all documentation, systems access, communications, and internal coordination are completed. Serve as the primary contact for new hires to create an organized and welcoming experience. Ensure employee changes (promotions, transfers, departures) are accurately documented and communicated to payroll, benefits, IT, managers, and other relevant partners in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personnel files, organizational information, and HRIS data. Support employee offboarding, including coordinating required documentation, internal notifications, system access changes, return of company property, and final-day logistics.
Recruiting Support: Assist with job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, offer letter preparation, and background check coordination. Help maintain recruiting workflows and follow up with candidates and hiring managers to ensure timely progression through the hiring process.
Employee Experience: Monitor People Operations workflows and follow up with employees and managers to ensure required forms, approvals, and information are completed on time. Respond to routine employee questions and help connect employees with the appropriate People team member or resource when additional support is needed.
