Pencil is an advertising technology company building a generative AI-powered SaaS platform for content creation. They're seeking an experienced People Operations Specialist to join on a permanent basis and scale their team across EMEA.
You'll own the full employee lifecycle and HR technology stack, including recruitment, onboarding, systems administration, and compliance. Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end new joiner processes (offer through start), administering HiBob (HRIS), Ashby (ATS), and Remote (EOR) platforms, maintaining data integrity across systems, creating and updating process documentation, handling employee lifecycle changes (promotions, transfers, terminations), providing first-line support for employee questions, and supporting compliance and audit requests.
You'll be the steward of clean employee data, ensuring accuracy across all systems to prevent downstream payroll issues. You'll work async across EMEA time zones as part of a distributed remote team, coordinating with IT, finance, and hiring managers. The role emphasizes continuous improvement—noticing friction points before they become problems and fixing them proactively.
Ideal candidates have worked in high-growth, remote, multi-geography environments and have hands-on HR tech experience beyond end-user level. You should be comfortable owning onboarding workflows, automations, and data integrity. Sharp attention to detail is essential, as is experience with UK employment law (French employment experience is a bonus).
