Cohere, a leading enterprise AI company, is hiring a People Operations Manager to own people data, reporting, and operational processes as the company scales rapidly. This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of HR operations, data quality, and analytics.
You will own headcount, attrition, and people cost reporting end-to-end, building executive and board-level dashboards that leadership can trust. A core responsibility is ensuring data integrity—reconciling people and finance headcount, cleaning taxonomies (starting with termination reasons), and establishing data quality checks to prevent bad data from entering systems. You'll define what metrics actually mean rather than simply producing whatever is requested.
The role includes owning the employee data model, definitions, and governance, working closely with the HRIS team during Cohere's Rippling implementation. This greenfield opportunity gives you real influence over how data is structured for years to come. You'll also manage US and global benefits administration, renewal cycles, open enrollment, employee records, employment verification, and data requests.
A key focus is making reporting self-serve—automating recurring reports, giving managers access to their own numbers, and reducing manual requests. You'll design systems that scale to support a company several times the current size, with audit-ready reporting and controls for external diligence.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years of people analytics and reporting experience in fast-paced, scaling environments. You should have meaningful experience with HRIS implementation or migration, building reports from scratch, and running operations across multiple countries and entities. SQL or BI tool experience is valuable, as is familiarity with Rippling. You're proactive about identifying data quality issues, communicate insights clearly, document thoroughly, and enjoy solving messy operational problems elegantly.
