Salary: USD 160,000 - 190,000 / annual

Tyba is a modeling platform for energy companies developing, financing, and operating renewable energy infrastructure. The company helps energy firms make crucial infrastructure decisions and operate assets more profitably by making cutting-edge models accessible to cross-functional teams. You will own Tyba's HR operations function and help build transformational people programs as the company scales. This is a ground-up build opportunity—not inheriting an existing template. Day-to-day responsibilities include: - Managing people compliance (filings, policies, employment law across jurisdictions) - Overseeing payroll and benefits administration, vendor relationships, and employee support - Designing and building the onboarding program with curriculum that connects new hires to the business - Leading first iterations of learning and development initiatives, including performance management processes and professional development frameworks - Supporting hiring logistics (scheduling, offers, background checks) alongside hiring managers and recruiters - Managing HQ office operations (vendors, supplies, workspace quality) - Auditing existing people processes and fixing what isn't working You'll be a strategic partner to leadership, deeply understanding Tyba's business and mission. The role offers significant room to grow into a leadership position as the company scales. Required: 5+ years HR operations experience at high-growth startups; proven track record building processes from scratch; working knowledge of payroll, benefits, and employment compliance; comfort with both tactical details and strategic planning; curiosity about the business; based in SF Bay Area with willingness to be in Oakland office 3-4 days/week minimum. Bonus: Experience designing or running L&D programs, curriculum development, or professional growth frameworks. Compensation: $160–190K salary (based on experience), parental leave, medical benefits, unlimited PTO, and equity options.
