Flock is a telematics and AI-powered fleet safety company that helps prevent road accidents through real-time data and proactive interventions. Recently acquired by Admiral (UK's leading motor insurer), the company combines startup agility with established backing and is scaling rapidly. As People Operations Lead, you will own the entire people operations function, reporting to the Senior People Partner. This is a hands-on operational role managing the employee lifecycle from day one through exit, with responsibility for payroll, benefits, HRIS (HiBob), office management, and company culture events. Key responsibilities include: managing the full employee lifecycle (contracts, right-to-work checks, onboarding, offboarding, probations); serving as first point of contact for HR queries and audits; owning HRIS data integrity, workflows, and monthly reporting; managing payroll input end-to-end including bonuses and compensation changes; administering benefits as primary provider contact; running office operations including health and safety compliance (First Aider, Fire Marshal); organizing company events and rituals; automating routine processes using AI-native workflows; and partnering with IT on access management and cost audits. You will need hands-on HR operations experience in a fast-moving scale-up with end-to-end process ownership and CIPD qualification or equivalent. Payroll and benefits administration experience is essential, with HiBob experience preferred. Strong HRIS skills across workflows, automations, and integrations are required, along with demonstrated experience building and shipping AI workflows. You must have working knowledge of UK employment law and people governance, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to influence without authority. The ideal candidate is a quick learner comfortable with pace, ambiguity, and autonomy, with low ego and high standards.
