Overland AI, founded in 2022 and headquartered in Seattle, is transforming land operations for modern defense through advanced robotics and machine learning. The company has secured significant funding from prominent defense tech investors including 8VC and Point 72, and maintains trusted partnerships with DARPA, the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and Special Operations Command. With eight-figure contracts across the Department of Defense, Overland AI is at an exciting inflection point—growing quickly, adding new contracts, and expanding teams.
You will join as the second hire on the People team, reporting directly to the Senior People Ops Manager. This is a foundational role where you'll own day-to-day HR operations and play a key role in shaping how the company onboards, supports, and retains talent as it scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the complete onboarding experience: offer letters, I-9 verification, benefits enrollment, system setup, and new hire orientation
- Managing the full employee lifecycle: performance management, manager coaching, employee relations, policy execution, compliance, and offboarding
- Building scalable processes and improving HR systems to support rapid growth
- Using data to drive HR decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Providing credible support to technical leaders and teams across the organization
- Ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies
You'll be embedded on-site with the leaders and teams you support.
