Cellanome is a well-funded biotech startup scaling rapidly to ~150 employees across Foster City, San Diego, and Singapore. We're seeking a People Operations Generalist to build and operationalize the HR function from the ground up.
This is a hands-on, build-and-improve role where you'll own end-to-end execution of people operations while partnering closely with People leadership on strategy. You'll transform manual processes into clean, repeatable, automated workflows and shape the operational core of the People function.
The role splits roughly into three areas:
**Core People Operations (~50%):** Run the complete employee lifecycle in Rippling—onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle changes with accuracy and speed. Administer leave-of-absence programs across multiple states, coordinating with employees, managers, carriers, and payroll on eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work. Manage benefits administration, enrollment, and compliance. Support payroll coordination and ensure accurate, timely processing. Maintain employee records and documentation.
**Workplace & Events in Foster City (~30%):** Manage the Foster City office operations to ensure it runs seamlessly. Coordinate office events, team gatherings, and culture-building activities. Handle facilities coordination, supplies, and day-to-day workplace needs.
**Recruiting & People Team Coordination (~20%):** Support recruiting operations and hiring pipeline management. Coordinate with the People team on candidate logistics, offer letters, and hiring workflows. Help scale recruiting processes as the company grows.
You'll work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and science/engineering teams. This is a genuine opportunity to design operational systems and curate the employee experience at a critical growth stage. The mix of responsibilities will flex as company needs evolve.
