Cape is America's privacy-first mobile carrier founded in 2022, on a mission to provide secure, private wireless infrastructure. The company recently closed a Series C in March 2026 and is scaling rapidly across consumer, business, and government segments.
The People Operations Associate will be a core member of Cape's growing People team, working cross-functionally with Finance, Recruiting, HR, and IT to support the company's rapid expansion. This role is ideal for someone who sees operational excellence as a competitive advantage and treats every process as an opportunity to enhance employee experience and company efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
**Reporting & Triage**: Run recurring new-hire and headcount reports for Finance and Leadership; serve as first responder for employee HR questions, resolving routine issues and escalating appropriately.
**Onboarding**: Act as the bridge between Recruiting, HR, and Leadership—tracking visa processes, coordinating IT and facility access, and running orientations to ensure new hires are set up for success from day one.
**Employee Support**: Be the trusted first point of contact for the team, answering questions on leave, benefits, and company policy with clarity and care.
**Payroll & Benefits Administration**: Maintain accurate leave tracking and employee status data; coordinate with Cape's PEO (Sequoia), EoR (Remote), and leave platform; ensure clean, timely payroll handoffs.
**Compliance & Reporting**: Draft verification letters, compile HR metrics, maintain employee files in the HRIS, and build dashboards to provide leadership with insights for scaling.
**Process Scaling**: Develop and implement HR processes that match Cape's growth stage; automate repetitive workflows; author employee FAQs and support other People initiatives.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of HR Operations experience, a strong instinct for automation and workflow optimization, hands-on payroll coordination experience, and proven HRIS expertise (Sequoia experience required). You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and bring precision, care, and practical problem-solving to every detail.
Cape operates with a flat structure emphasizing high trust, high expectations, and cross-functional collaboration. The company is committed to building a world-class employee experience and fostering a diverse, inclusive culture.
