Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries that move civilization forward, including food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate to deploy intelligent systems at scale.
As a People Operations Associate, you will own the design and continuous improvement of employee lifecycle processes end-to-end, including onboarding, offboarding, and data management. You'll identify real problems—workarounds, undocumented exceptions, gaps between teams—and design solutions, then drive adoption across the organization.
Key responsibilities include leading process improvement projects from problem statement through launch, coordinating across teams and managing ambiguity. You'll identify automation opportunities and partner with technical teams to move them from concept to implementation. You'll monitor compliance across People Operations (I-9, background checks, employee data integrity), build controls, audit regularly, and proactively mitigate risks. You'll also manage and troubleshoot People team tools such as background check platforms and Workday, keeping standard operating procedures current.
You should have 2–5 years in People/HR Operations, Program Management, QA, or Compliance, with a track record of rebuilding broken manual processes end-to-end. You proactively analyze data to surface compliance gaps and trends, spot problems before they're raised with proposed fixes, and pick up new tools quickly. You work comfortably across Shared Services, HRIS, Legal, Recruiting, Payroll, and HR Business Partners, building alignment and scalable processes. You move quickly without introducing risk or sacrificing quality.
Strong candidates may have proficiency in Workday, FirstAdvantage, and background check platforms; familiarity with I-9 regulations, FCRA, or SOC 2 compliance; or experience deploying AI or automation to improve operational workflows.
The role is based in San Francisco with five-day-per-week onsite work. Base salary is $114,000–$135,000 per year, with compensation determined individually based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
