Innovamat, an international educational organization founded in Barcelona in 2017, is seeking a People Lead to build and strengthen its People function in the United States. The company specializes in research-based mathematics education programs serving 27,000+ teachers across 2,800+ schools in 9 countries, reaching over 600,000 students. This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of people strategy, leadership, employee experience, and organizational development.
In this position, you will partner with U.S. leadership, managers, and employees to shape organizational structures and practices. Key responsibilities include developing people strategy aligned with business priorities, acting as a trusted advisor to managers across the employee lifecycle, and owning onboarding, engagement, performance management, training, development, and succession planning. You'll manage employee relations cases, facilitate performance conversations, and translate employee feedback into actionable improvements.
Operationally, you'll ensure People processes, policies, and practices are effective and compliant with U.S. requirements. You'll own the U.S. benefits experience, serving as the primary contact for employee benefits questions and support. You'll continuously improve internal processes and systems, partnering with People Ops and other teams to enhance the employee experience.
You'll also lead high-impact strategic People projects from conception through execution, building scalable programs as the organization evolves. Using data and insights, you'll identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness.
The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of People/HR, People Business Partnering, or People Operations experience, with demonstrated ability to partner closely with senior leaders and managers. You should have experience across performance, engagement, development, and employee relations. Experience in international or U.S. organizations is valued, as is a track record of building People processes, programs, or teams from scratch. Background in management consulting, early-stage startups, high-growth companies, technology, or data-driven commercial environments is particularly attractive. Entrepreneurial experience—whether founding a company, building projects from scratch, or taking significant ownership of new initiatives—is a plus.
You'll need strong business acumen, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, an analytical and data-driven approach to People decisions, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. The role requires entrepreneurial, proactive, resourceful mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity and complexity.
