Extend is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company revolutionizing the post-purchase experience for retailers through AI-driven solutions. The company works with over 1,000 merchant partners and is backed by prominent technology investors, headquartered in San Francisco. The People Generalist will be a core member of Extend's People team, supporting day-to-day HR operations and serving as a go-to resource for employees and managers. This is a hands-on role combining strategic HR support with operational excellence. Key responsibilities include: - Serving as first point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, processes, and everyday questions - Supporting full onboarding and offboarding cycles, including paperwork, orientation, and exit processes - Maintaining accurate employee records and data in the HRIS system, ensuring compliance and data integrity - Administering benefits enrollment, leave of absence requests, and other People operations processes - Coordinating performance management cycles, talent reviews, and related communications - Documenting and routing employee relations concerns appropriately - Partnering with Recruiting and People Operations to deliver seamless employee experience - Coordinating People programs including engagement, learning and development, and recognition initiatives - Preparing reports and analyzing People metrics to support team decision-making - Planning and coordinating company events, offsites, and team activities - Maintaining compliance documentation and conducting record audits - Supporting internal communications on People programs and policy updates - Acting as liaison for hiring managers, ensuring adherence to employer branding and best practices - Identifying opportunities to improve processes and implement solutions leveraging technology and AI - Working to strengthen manager-employee relationships and support retention The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of relevant experience in a generalist, business partner, consultant, or operations role in a fast-paced company. Required skills include familiarity with core HR processes (onboarding, benefits, performance management, compliance), excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and high attention to detail. Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI to optimize workflows is valued. The role requires discretion with sensitive information and comfort navigating ambiguity in a growing organization.
