This is a hands-on generalist role reporting to the Director of People & Culture. You will manage the full employee lifecycle—background checks, employment eligibility verification, employee changes, promotions, transfers, and offboarding—while maintaining accurate HRIS data and conducting regular audits. You will serve as a reliable point of contact for employee questions about benefits, policies, leaves, and P&C processes, explaining information clearly and knowing when to escalate. You will maintain strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment requirements for a multi-state workforce, supporting compliance calendars, required notices and trainings, record retention, and regulatory reporting. You will support performance review cycles (system setup, communications, documentation, timeline management) and partner with recruiting to create smooth candidate-to-employee transitions. Success means new hires experience organized, welcoming transitions; employee records and HRIS data are current and audit-ready; employees receive timely support; recurring processes have clear owners and effective handoffs; and manual workflows become simpler through better systems and automation. Requirements: - 3–5+ years progressive, broad-based HR, People & Culture, People Operations, or comparable generalist experience with responsibility across multiple core P&C functions - Hands-on experience across several employee lifecycle stages: onboarding, HRIS administration, benefits, leaves, employee records, compliance, performance processes, offboarding - Ability to research questions, apply established guidance, and identify escalation needs - Exceptional organization and detail orientation; understanding that data accuracy and documentation directly affect employees and business - Comfort creating structure where it does not exist; ability to investigate and implement practical improvements to manual, unclear, or inconsistent processes - Curiosity about systems and automation; ability to translate operational needs into reliable workflows across HRIS, ATS, and other tools - Clear communication and sound judgment in employee interactions, company-wide messaging, and sensitive employment changes - Ability to handle confidential information with care and exercise judgment about independent resolution vs. escalation - Capacity to manage competing priorities and move between detailed administrative work, employee support, and longer-term projects - Comfort in startup environments where priorities change, resources are limited, and people wear multiple hats - Service-oriented approach with warmth and patience toward employee experience Preferred qualifications: Rippling experience; HR/P&C program support in heavily regulated or federal-contractor environments; experience with applicant tracking, benefits, leave, and collaboration systems; benefits open enrollment or vendor coordination experience; experience supporting rapid headcount growth or organizations with fewer than 250 employees; multi-state employment compliance fundamentals; SHRM, HRCI, or relevant professional certification.
