Saronic Technologies, a leader in autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense, is seeking a People Business Partner to serve as a strategic HR advisor to specific departments. This role bridges the People team and business operations, focusing on proactive support aligned with organizational goals.
You will be the primary HR point of contact for assigned departments, developing strong relationships with business leaders and teams. Key responsibilities include understanding team objectives and workforce challenges to anticipate and provide solutions; advising and coaching managers on organizational design, workforce planning, team effectiveness, and leadership development; partnering with leaders to identify and address engagement drivers; supporting retention and development strategies aligned with Saronic's mission; facilitating feedback loops through listening sessions and surveys; guiding teams through goal setting, performance reviews, and continuous feedback; supporting succession planning and career development conversations; coaching managers through employee relations matters; maintaining knowledge of federal and state labor laws applicable to the defense sector; ensuring accurate documentation and compliance; contributing to company-wide People initiatives including policy development and organizational change; collaborating on tools and processes that enhance manager capability; and using HRIS tools and data to inform strategic decisions.
You bring 2-4 years of progressive People team experience, including at least 1 year in a consultative or partner role. You hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. You demonstrate strong business acumen, connecting People strategy to operational goals; deep understanding of employee relations, performance management, and organizational development; skilled communication with strong coaching and influencing abilities; comfort in dynamic, fast-changing environments; and proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office. Experience in startup or high-growth settings is valued.
