SandboxAQ is seeking a Principal People Business Partner to serve as a strategic organizational development expert and executive consultant across the company's distinct product teams. This is a high-impact individual contributor role that bridges people strategy with business outcomes in a fast-growing AI company. You will partner with business leaders to architect people strategies aligned with 3-year product and commercial visions, design organizational structures that balance agility with centralized infrastructure, and diagnose/resolve organizational friction points. Unlike traditional HR roles, you will operate as a "Swiss Army Knife"—one day designing top-down strategies, the next executing structural reorganizations or building localized solutions for acute team issues. Key responsibilities include: conducting strategic business consultation to evaluate team setups against product/commercial vision; designing high-velocity cross-functional organizational structures and change management frameworks; bridging cultural paradigms and optimizing team dynamics; translating talent data into localized retention strategies; and ruthlessly prioritizing high-leverage opportunities for each business unit. You will work closely with Finance, Information Security, Business Operations, and Marketing while leveraging a centralized People Operations team that handles baseline programs like talent reviews and performance management. The role requires 10+ years of progressive People Partnering, HRBP, organizational development, or management consulting experience, with 2–3 years at Director or Principal level. You need proven expertise in organizational design (especially in technical, nimble environments), change management, and scaled organization building. Deep experience in high-growth AI, deep-tech, biotech, or complex R&D environments is essential; experience commercializing scientific research is a major plus. You should have a track record building high-impact frameworks and operational plans in ambiguous, mid-sized company environments (200–500 employees). The ideal candidate combines world-class consulting skills with a bias toward execution, speaks the language of product roadmaps and commercial results, and is intellectually curious about deep-tech and AI. As the company grows, you will architect the future People Partner model and eventually lead a team. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, HR, or related field is required; advanced degrees are a plus but real-world business outcomes matter more.
