You will join the Operations team as People and Talent Manager, owning the people function from an early stage as the company grows across London and Munich. This is a hands-on role with considerable scope.
Your primary focus will be recruiting researchers and engineers, including PhD holders and postdoctoral researchers. You will personally lead searches from role definition through offer acceptance, working directly with founders and hiring managers to understand specialist work, define success criteria, and assess candidates consistently. You'll source candidates through direct outreach, referrals, academic networks, research conferences, and industry communities, while ensuring candidates receive clear communication and a thoughtful experience throughout the process.
Beyond hiring, you will own the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, people records, and day-to-day support processes. As the team grows, you'll develop practical approaches to performance management, feedback, development, and manager support. You'll help build a strong culture across both London and Munich teams, maintain clear people policies and processes (working with Operations and local employment advisers as needed), and use hiring and people data to identify process improvements and support leadership planning.

- Experience owning or building people processes beyond hiring (onboarding, performance, employee development, HR operations)
- Sound judgment, discretion, and empathy when handling sensitive people matters
- Strong organization and follow-through; ability to manage multiple searches and people priorities without losing detail
- Practical, proactive approach to building processes for a growing company
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience hiring in machine learning, computer vision, graphics, robotics, or related fields
- Relationships with relevant universities, research labs, or deep tech communities
- Experience in early-stage or rapidly growing technology companies
- Experience supporting teams across UK and Germany
