The Payroll Specialist Lead – Poland is a critical individual contributor role within Remote's EOR and Payroll Operations Team, responsible for delivering accurate, compliant payroll operations for Poland while contributing to the improvement and scalability of global payroll processes. You will own end-to-end payroll execution for Poland, including validation of payroll inputs, payroll calculations, and post-payroll processes. Key responsibilities include ensuring payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with country-specific regulations and statutory requirements. You will act as a subject matter expert on Polish payroll requirements, staying current with legislative, tax, and regulatory developments. You will identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, operational risks, or compliance issues, and serve as a key point of coordination for internal teams and external stakeholders on country payroll matters. You will also contribute to continuous improvement of payroll operational processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve operational transparency. This includes supporting the development and maintenance of payroll documentation, partnering with cross-functional teams (Payroll Operations, Tax, Finance, Product, Customer Success) on system enhancements and statutory updates, and contributing to the adoption of automation and AI-enabled tools that improve payroll operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. The ideal candidate brings meaningful mid-to-senior career experience in Polish payroll operations with hands-on responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing. You have managed payroll in multi-country environments or global organizations, with exposure to different payroll systems and local regulatory frameworks. You demonstrate strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements. You are analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex payroll scenarios. You are a strong communicator comfortable working in asynchronous and globally distributed environments, take ownership of outcomes, and approach operational challenges with curiosity and accountability. Experience with payroll tools, data analysis platforms, remote/distributed teams, and fluency in automation and AI capabilities are valued.
