Remote is a global employment platform that helps organizations recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. The company is seeking a Payroll Specialist Lead to join the Global Payroll Operations Team, based anywhere in the EMEA region.
In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert for payroll operations, managing end-to-end payroll processing including statutory filing, compliance, exceptions, approvals, and payments. You will manage key stakeholder relationships across Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams. Core responsibilities include processing full payroll cycles, ensuring data integrity and quality, managing payroll journals and reconciliations, tracking KPIs and SLAs, and implementing process improvements.
You will mentor and support payroll specialists on your team and provide backup support to regional managers during absences. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency with Excel and Google Suite, and a passion for process optimization and automation.
You'll report to the Manager of Global Payroll Operations and work in a fully remote, asynchronous environment across a globally distributed team. The ideal candidate has end-to-end payroll processing experience (in-house or at a payroll service provider), knowledge of payroll best practices, fluent English, and comfort working in a fast-paced international environment. Remote experience is a plus but not required.
