Reporting to the Payroll Lead, the Payroll Specialist will support global payroll operations across seven countries (UK, APAC, EMEA, North/South America), including the newly established Lisbon Engineering Hub. This newly created role is central to scaling payroll processes for a rapidly expanding organization.
Key responsibilities include: executing timely payroll processing and statutory reporting across all jurisdictions while maintaining compliance with local legislation; supporting payroll system implementations and process optimization initiatives; collaborating with finance and HR teams to ensure accurate accounting of payroll spend; managing benefits alignment and preventing leakage; administering payroll portals, user accounts, and access controls; responding to payroll queries; and leading ad hoc projects as the business expands internationally.
The ideal candidate brings multi-country payroll processing experience, strong Excel proficiency, deep understanding of payroll controls and best practices, and excellent communication skills to articulate complex payroll matters to HR, finance, and employees. Desirable qualifications include group environment experience, fast-growing tech company background, payroll systems implementation expertise, and Workday familiarity.
