Neurophos is a venture-backed AI infrastructure company pioneering optical processing units (OPUs) for hyperscale AI inference. The company has raised a $110M Series A led by Microsoft and is experiencing rapid growth.
As Payroll Specialist, you will own end-to-end payroll operations for a distributed, fast-growing team. Key responsibilities include:
• Processing regular and special payroll runs with accuracy and timeliness
• Managing employee data changes, garnishments, and payroll deductions
• Calculating, reconciling, and filing payroll taxes (federal, state, local)
• Maintaining comprehensive payroll records and supporting audit/compliance reporting
• Administering payroll systems (ADP, Workday, Gusto, or similar) and HRIS tools
• Responding to employee payroll inquiries and resolving discrepancies
• Partnering with Finance and HR on compensation matters
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to support scaling operations
• Coordinating with external payroll service providers as needed
You'll need strong technical payroll skills, including payroll processing, tax administration, garnishment handling, and compliance knowledge. Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms is essential. A background in accounting, finance, or business is preferred, along with familiarity with federal, state, and local wage-and-hour regulations. Prior experience in technology, semiconductor, or high-growth environments is a plus. You must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
