Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for merchants like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, and Uber. The Sanctions Screening team is responsible for real-time screening that checks payments and customers against sanctions lists and watchlists to keep merchants and their customers safe. In this role, you'll own the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of the screening platform (Fircosoft Continuity), which is critical infrastructure for compliance and risk management. You'll be responsible for keeping the system healthy, reliable, and increasingly effective as the business scales into new markets and payment types. Key responsibilities include: - Operating and maintaining the screening platform to ensure it runs reliably without single points of failure - Designing and testing rules that reduce false positives and minimize manual case work while maintaining detection accuracy - Managing watchlist updates and system configurations to stay compliant with evolving regulatory requirements - Extending screening capabilities to new payment types and building automated testing frameworks You'll bring 2–3 years of analytical or data-focused experience, strong problem-solving skills, and hands-on proficiency with SQL and/or Python. Experience with rules-based systems, logic configuration, and testing is essential. You'll communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-moving, high-growth environment. Sanctions, AML, fraud, or transaction monitoring experience is a plus but not required. Experience configuring screening tools, designing rules, or exposure to emerging payment types like crypto is valued. Checkout.com operates on a hybrid model with three days per week in the London office to support collaboration.
