Zepz is a fintech company powering WorldRemit and Sendwave, enabling cross-border money transfers for global communities. As Payment Operations Director, you will lead the operational engine that processes millions of multi-currency transactions daily across 60+ payment corridors worldwide.
You will own end-to-end payment execution across all global corridors, managing bank transfers, card networks, mobile wallets, and cash payout networks. Your responsibilities include driving transaction success rates and payout speed, building real-time monitoring systems to detect and resolve exceptions before they impact customers, and designing core operational processes for payment execution, ledger matching, and reconciliation.
You will partner closely with Finance, Engineering, and Product teams to optimize transaction routing, reduce costs, and enable competitive corridor pricing. A key focus is automating manual workflows and building scalable operational infrastructure as the business grows.
You will build and scale a high-performing team of payment operations specialists and analysts, setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of extreme ownership and operational rigor. You will define the complete KPI framework for Payment Operations—exception volumes, processing times, transaction success rates, and partner SLA performance—and translate complex operational data into strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on leadership experience running high-volume payment operations in a global fintech, FX, or cross-border remittance environment. You are operationally decisive, making quick calls with available information and driving resolutions without waiting for perfect conditions. You are data-driven, capable of translating operational metrics into clear points of view and holding both internal teams and external partners accountable.
Bonus experience includes using AI tools like Claude for operational analysis, or implementing enterprise reconciliation platforms (ReconArt, Gresham, Fiserv/Frontier, etc.).
