Modern Intelligence builds Sovereign, edge targeting software for unmanned systems (UAVs, USVs, UUVs, UGVs, and other unmanned vehicles). The software runs on the vehicle's onboard computer, detects and classifies targets from cameras, maintains tracking through signal loss, and provides terminal guidance. It operates independently when GPS and radio communications are jammed. The company has held Department of War contracts including work with Air Force Special Operations and SOCOM, and has raised over $12 million from top-tier investors including Bedrock, Vine, Contrary, and Air Street. You will be the company's first dedicated partnerships hire, responsible for building relationships with unmanned vehicle manufacturers and owning the partner pipeline from initial outreach through contract signature. Your primary focus is identifying and qualifying manufacturers of UAVs, UGVs, USVs, UUVs, and other unmanned platforms that want Sovereign integrated into their vehicles. You will negotiate partnership agreements covering licensing, teaming arrangements, joint development, and reseller deals. Once manufacturers sign, you will coordinate with the Deployments team to schedule integration work and field testing. The role is based in Austin, TX (on-site) or the Washington, DC area (hybrid). Expect 25–33% travel for partner meetings, field tests, industry conferences, and events. REQUIREMENTS: • 4+ years in sales, partnerships, or business development at B2B, hardware, defense, dual-use, or deep-tech companies • Demonstrated ability to build your own pipeline through outbound prospecting (not solely managing inbound leads or assigned accounts) • Experience closing licensing agreements with hardware manufacturers, primes, or systems integrators • Experience selling into defense with understanding of Department of War procurement processes • Ability to pitch technical products to defense engineers • Proficiency maintaining CRM data and reporting pipeline metrics to executive leadership • Fluency with AI tools for prospecting, note-taking, research, and drafting • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to export-controlled technology PREFERRED: • Existing relationships at U.S. unmanned vehicle manufacturers (air, ground, or maritime) and their prime contractors and integrators • Experience integrating software onto OEM vehicles and into production • Experience building GTM, partnerships, or sales functions at startups • Experience selling to international vendors
