Meter is a channel-first enterprise networking company that distributes all deals through partners. This role leads Meter Labs, an in-person technical enablement program designed to train partner engineers on Meter's cloud-managed networking solutions.
You will own the end-to-end delivery and infrastructure of Meter Labs, a hands-on three-day program running three times per month in San Francisco with 16 partner engineers per cohort. The program includes building real Meter networks from hardware, troubleshooting, and earning a Meter Network Engineer credential. You'll also launch and manage regional sessions in other cities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead Meter Labs sessions three days per month, opening the program, running labs, and issuing credentials
- Automate lab station setup, dashboard resets, and teardown using the Meter API to enable rapid cohort turnover
- Build and maintain lab infrastructure, curriculum, and demo environments
- Launch regional Meter Labs programs with pre-positioned equipment
- Manage the Meter Network Engineer credential and badging platform
- Own technical accuracy for Getting Started with Meter content and Meter Pulse technical episodes
- Create high-fidelity technical content: lab guides, LMS modules, recorded demos, and training courses
- Deliver hands-on training to groups of 15+ engineers
- Present at conferences and work one-on-one with partner engineers
Work rhythm alternates between session weeks (setup, three delivery days, teardown, review) and build weeks (curriculum updates, infrastructure improvements, content creation, partner support).
Meter's platform addresses a generational shift in enterprise networking, moving away from decades-old incumbent solutions. The company recently launched a $100 million Partner Growth Fund to support partner enablement, training, co-marketing, and development.
Requirements:
- Significant hands-on experience in enterprise networking: design, deployment, troubleshooting
- Deep expertise in cloud-managed architecture, identity and NAC (802.1X, RADIUS, IdP integration), firewalling and VPN, multi-WAN and SD-WAN, wireless design, SSE and third-party firewall integration
- Proven experience in partner-facing or field-facing technical roles (Sales Engineer, Technical Marketing Engineer, technical trainer)
- Demonstrated ability to earn credibility with skeptical engineers transitioning from incumbent platforms
- Track record building high-fidelity technical content from scratch (lab guides, LMS modules, recorded demos) on schedule
- Experience leading hands-on technical training for groups of 15 or more
- Proficiency with APIs and scripting to build and reset lab/demo environments
- Comfort presenting to large audiences (50+) and working one-on-one with engineers
Ideal qualifications:
- Partner-facing technical background (VAR, MSP, TSD, TA experience)
- Understanding of channel landscape and how different partner types onboard vendors
- Experience building multi-stage technical training tracks or credentials
- Current or former certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CWNA, CWDP, CWSP, JNCIA or above
- Willingness to travel 20-50% for regional session delivery
