Alan is a European digital health insurance leader (€950M+ revenue, 1M+ members across France, Belgium, Spain, Canada) that acquired Tanel, West Africa's first francophone digital health insurance platform (30,000+ members, 1,200+ health facilities, 400+ pharmacies). Together, they are building the reference health insurance platform for French-speaking West Africa with a target of $200M revenue by 2030. As an Operations Builder, you will construct and develop the operational infrastructure to scale from 30,000 to hundreds of thousands of members across Senegal and Ivory Coast. You will own critical, ambiguous operational challenges with direct, visible impact on members daily. Key responsibilities include: building a large-scale claims management engine (automating file analysis, reimbursements, recoveries, fraud detection, and member satisfaction); industrializing provider network management (structuring oversight of 1,200+ facilities and 400 pharmacies, improving payment reliability, quality tracking, and network expansion); deploying operations to new countries (building operational models from zero, integrating local regulatory requirements, adapting products, establishing partnerships); implementing operational excellence tracking (volumes, efficiency, SLAs, financial performance, risk identification, continuous improvement via AI/automation); and building/developing the Operations team (recruitment, mentoring junior profiles, defining excellence standards). You will work across local teams, enterprise clients, healthcare professionals, regulators, and Alan's headquarters. The role demands vision-setting, difficult decision-making, and delivering measurable results in a fast-moving, high-responsibility environment where complex problems are the norm. Within 12 months, you will own a key operational domain (claims, billing, affiliation, or provider network) and make it significantly more efficient and scalable; build a performance tracking framework and identify improvement opportunities; contribute to launching Alan operations in at least one new country; and participate in developing the Operations team.
