Nox Metals is a technology-enabled metals supplier serving aerospace and defense manufacturers. The company operates factories in Metro Detroit and Los Angeles, using software and automation to deliver aluminum plate, bar, and rounds faster than traditional supply chains. You will own the product roadmap for the software systems that operators use daily: receiving, planning, cutting, tracking, and shipping workflows. This is not a typical SaaS product role—you will spend substantial time on the factory floor observing how work actually happens, identifying friction points, and translating operational reality into software requirements. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the roadmap for inventory, planning, production, quality, and shipping workflows - Observing operators directly and mapping actual work processes - Defining requirements, exceptions, and success metrics with engineering and operations teams - Prioritizing improvements based on safety, reliability, throughput, and delivery impact - Designing workflows that remain clear during unusual or high-pressure situations - Leading product delivery from discovery through rollout and adoption - Measuring system usage and operational performance post-launch - Maintaining clear documentation and decision history - Coordinating changes across software, training, process, and equipment - Building trust with users by responding quickly when systems fail You will work at the intersection of software and physical operations. The best solutions often simplify workflows and remove failure points rather than adding features. You must be comfortable with operational complexity, precise about data integrity and state management, and able to communicate effectively with both frontline operators and software engineers. The role is full-time, in-person in either Los Angeles or Detroit, Michigan. Equity is included. Qualifications: - Drawn to operational complexity and practical problem-solving - Comfortable spending substantial time on a factory floor - Skilled at separating root causes from symptoms - Precise about states, exceptions, ownership, and data integrity - Able to communicate with both operators and software engineers - Focused on adoption and outcomes, not feature volume - Calm, organized, and decisive when priorities compete - Respectful of frontline expertise Nice to have: - Experience with manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, ERP, or logistics systems - Experience launching software into physical operations - Technical fluency with integrations, databases, and event-driven workflows - Familiarity with Lean operations or continuous improvement
