Orca Bio is a commercial-stage biotechnology company developing next-generation cell therapies to improve outcomes for blood cancer patients undergoing stem cell transplants. The company operates a state-of-the-art 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Sacramento, CA dedicated to producing high-precision cell therapy products.
The Operations Supervisor, Logistics & Cold Chain leads teams responsible for the secure, compliant, and timely movement of donor cells and cell therapy products between Orca Bio's Sacramento manufacturing sites and transplant centers across the United States. This is a hands-on people-leadership role with end-to-end operational accountability across two core functions:
1. Logistics Specialist Team: Coordinates live courier runs, manages disruption response, maintains chain-of-custody documentation, and tracks vein-to-vein (V2V) performance metrics.
2. Cold Chain & Packaging Operations: Manages an hourly team responsible for preparing, charging, and qualifying shippers, as well as executing GMP-compliant packing and product handover.
Reporting to the Logistics Program Manager, the Operations Supervisor owns full operational accountability including team staffing, qualification currency maintenance, KPI performance tracking, real-time disruption response, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires hands-on presence and availability during critical operational windows and close partnership with day-side and night-side counterparts to ensure consistent leadership and seamless team handoffs.
