Clipboard Health is a Y Combinator-backed, profitable marketplace connecting healthcare professionals with facilities across the US. Founded in 2016, the company has over 1,000 employees and leads the long-term care staffing space while expanding into home health, hospitals, and beyond.
The Operations Strategy Associate is a generalist role designed for versatile problem-solvers who thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. You'll work across Clipboard's Operations teams on high-impact projects that directly affect customers, product, and business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing operational data to identify trends and bottlenecks; building dashboards, reports, and predictive models to guide business decisions
- Researching, evaluating, and implementing new technologies (AI, automations, internal tools) to enhance operational effectiveness
- Designing processes, workflows, and operating procedures that improve efficiency, quality, and customer experience
- Leading cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives from planning through execution, partnering with Operations, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and other teams
Example projects you might own: redesigning customer outreach for payment method transitions to accelerate cash collection; researching and onboarding AI agent vendors; building predictive models to flag high-risk payers; or taking over an operations team to improve performance and workflows.
The role offers exposure to multiple problem types and the flexibility to develop in execution-focused or project/team leadership directions based on your strengths and company needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of work or internship experience in cross-functional roles such as Strategy, Business Operations, Product Operations, Program Management, Consultancy, or Business Analytics
- Demonstrated experience solving operational problems through process improvement, workflow design, or building scalable systems while managing multiple priorities in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Strong data analysis skills with hands-on experience in SQL, Python, or similar tools
- Clear written and verbal communication ability; capacity to explain complex problems simply and align stakeholders across teams
- Deep curiosity and first-principles reasoning; drive to identify root causes
- Willingness to go to the source—testing features, listening to agent calls, contacting customers, or running workflows yourself rather than relying on secondhand information
