Airspace is a tech-enabled freight forwarder specializing in time-critical logistics for mission-critical packages—from organs for transplant to semiconductor components and aircraft parts. As an Operations Specialist, you will be the backbone of Airspace's operations, managing the setup and execution of orders containing the most time-sensitive commodities. Your primary responsibilities include:
**Operating the Airspace Platform:**
- Set up new orders following standard work practices and client-specific SOPs
- Rapidly prioritize and manage multiple critical tasks across the operations view
- Verify driver pickups and confirm correct item handling
- Accurately track flight departures using AWB tracking systems
- Maintain adherence to process and communication standards
- Stay current on system updates and process changes
**Proactive Customer Updates:**
- Provide timely delay notifications using customers' preferred communication channels
- Anticipate potential issues (weather, traffic) and proactively offer alternative solutions to meet or exceed delivery deadlines
**Intuitive Problem Solving:**
- Update and manage airway bills using training and institutional knowledge
- Source driver coverage for order segments as needed
- Apply creative, out-of-the-box thinking to resolve common and uncommon operational issues
- Follow escalation procedures and collaborate with senior team members
