Salary: EUR 37,000 - 40,000 / annual
Roadsurfer, Europe's largest campervan rental company, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead and develop their Duisburg location. You will manage day-to-day operations, build and lead a team with empathy and clear communication, and drive continuous process improvement across vehicle handovers, returns, and fleet management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Location Development: Partner with central departments to establish and grow the Duisburg station, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Process Optimization: Implement and enhance existing standards, contributing ideas for vehicle handover and return procedures.
- Team Leadership: Lead your team with empathetic communication, creating clarity, fostering performance, and enabling autonomous decision-making.
- Recruiting: Build your team by identifying and attracting talent aligned with roadsurfer's mission.
- Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle fleet condition, maintenance coordination with local service partners, and inventory management.
- International Collaboration: Work closely with roadsurfer teams across other countries to continuously improve processes.
- Customer Consultation: Leverage product knowledge to advise customers and ensure positive rental experiences.

Requirements:
- Completed vocational training or degree in a relevant field, or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1–2 years professional experience, ideally in car rental, tourism, or similar sectors (career changers welcome)
- Some team leadership experience is a plus; empathetic communication and ability to create a supportive, clarity-focused work environment are essential
- Strong service and customer orientation with an open, friendly demeanor
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented work style
- Fluent German and English
- Valid Class B driver's license
