Hims & Hers, a leading telehealth and wellness platform (NYSE: HIMS), is seeking an Operations Manager for Compounding at its New Albany, Ohio facility. This is a hands-on management role reporting to the Head Compounding Pharmacist, responsible for leading a team of compounding professionals and overseeing daily operations of the compounding department.
Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating daily production schedules to ensure timely delivery of compounded products; leading and supervising lab managers, pharmacy tech leads, and pharmacy technicians with clear direction and regular feedback; continuously evaluating compounding processes and implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies to enhance productivity and minimize waste; monitoring KPIs related to safety, quality, and productivity with regular reporting; ensuring strict compliance with USP, FDA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations while fostering a safety-conscious culture; overseeing inventory management and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous substances; and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Supply Chain to resolve operational challenges.
Required qualifications include 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical compounding, manufacturing, fulfillment, or related operational environments; 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in fast-paced, regulated settings; 2+ years of OSHA safety standards implementation and maintenance; proficiency in warehouse management systems and operational reporting tools; strong knowledge of USP 795, USP 800, cGMP, OSHA, and FDA regulations; and experience with continuous improvement methodologies. A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field is preferred but equivalent work experience may be considered. Technician certification is required within 8 months of start date. The role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and bending, and work any shift in a 24/7 operation. Experience with both sterile and non-sterile compounding procedures and knowledge of hazardous materials handling is highly desirable.
