The Landline Company is revolutionizing air travel by creating multimodal connections between regional communities and major airline hubs through partnerships with airlines like American and Air Canada. They operate luxury motorcoaches as a faster, more sustainable alternative to short flights, addressing pilot shortages and reducing costs while enhancing passenger journeys.
As Operations Analyst / Industrial Engineer, you will own the systems and processes that keep their multimodal network running smoothly. This is an internal-consultant role where you'll build relationships across operations groups, identify pain points, and develop technical solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and maintain schedules across the motorcoach and multimodal network, balancing passenger connections, crew utilization, and costs
- Lead operations planning as the company scales into new markets and adds stations
- Analyze operational performance data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Design and document processes and standard operating procedures that scale across locations
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track productivity, on-time performance, and asset utilization
- Support capacity planning, resource allocation, and continuous-improvement initiatives
- Act as an internal consultant to station teams, dispatch, and leadership, translating analysis into practical process improvements
You'll work with data and frontline hourly staff, walking into depots and team huddles to understand operational challenges. The role requires comfort with both quantitative analysis and interpersonal communication across multiple locations and time zones.
Required qualifications: 2–5 years in transportation operations, logistics, aviation, fleet operations, or operations-focused consulting. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, or equivalent hands-on experience. Strong Excel skills; SQL, Python, or BI tools (Tableau/Power BI) are a plus. Comfort using AI tools like Claude Code. Familiarity with fleet-management platforms (Fleetio, Samsara) is a strong plus. Six Sigma certification is a nice-to-have.
