Factbird is a manufacturing intelligence platform that transforms live production data into operational insight. The company is hiring an Operational Excellence Consultant to work across Italy, helping manufacturers understand shop-floor performance and drive measurable improvements.
In this role, you will be the bridge between Factbird's platform and manufacturing customers. You will work directly with prospective and existing customers to assess operational challenges, lead on-site and remote assessments focused on line performance, downtime, throughput, and quality, and translate plant-level observations into clear operational and financial value stories. You will build practical business cases including ROI, payback, and operational impact; partner with account executives to shape customer conversations and reduce deal risk; support pilot and trial programs; and coach customer teams on platform adoption.
You will build trusted relationships with stakeholders ranging from operators and continuous improvement leads to plant managers and senior decision-makers. Success means customers clearly understand where Factbird can improve their performance, trials convert because the value case is grounded in operational reality, and customers adopt the platform with confidence to drive measurable decisions. You will act as the voice of manufacturing best practices within Factbird's customer engagement across the region.
The role is full-time, remote-based in Italy, with travel across the region (up to 75% during peak periods). This is a strong fit for someone who wants to stay close to real manufacturing problems and operational improvement while having broader influence across multiple plants and teams, without moving into purely internal leadership or purely commercial roles.
**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, operational excellence, operations consulting, or closely related environment
- Strong understanding of OEE, downtime, throughput, quality, and operational KPIs
- Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar improvement methodologies
- Ability to build and defend practical business cases for operational change
- Confidence working with operators, supervisors, CI leads, plant managers, and senior stakeholders
- Comfort with digital tools, dashboards, analytics, MES-adjacent systems, or industrial software
- Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken) — required
- Willingness to travel across Italy
