FlixBus is seeking an Operational Accountant to oversee accounting and financial operations for the Europe West Region (France, Benelux, Iberia), based in Warsaw. This role sits within the Finance Operations & Tax Europe pillar and requires close collaboration with the Sofia-based accounting hub and local stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings for Western Europe, including balance sheet reviews and reconciliations
- Prepare and review financial statements under local GAAP and IFRS, including IFRS mappings and adjustments
- Act as key contact for external auditors and respond to HQ requests on reporting, accounting, and tax matters
- Coordinate local tax compliance (corporate tax, VAT, other local taxes) with external advisors, ensuring adherence to group guidelines and local requirements
- Contribute to harmonization, improvement, and automation of finance and tax processes across Europe
- Partner with FP&A, Billing, operational teams, shared services, and local stakeholders to ensure accurate financial treatment
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting firm (audit, accounting, or advisory) with strong foundations in accounting and financial statements
- Exposure to multinational environments and/or IFRS experience
- Comfortable working with complex business and financial flows, balancing group standards with local requirements
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel
- Fluency in English; French or Portuguese is advantageous
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Portuguese/French GAAP and accounting/tax regulations.
