Playground Global is a $1.7B+ venture capital firm investing in early-stage deep tech companies across next-generation compute, AI, automation, energy, and engineered biology. As Operating Partner for Fundraising & Technology, you will serve as a strategic advisor and connector for portfolio companies navigating capital raises, M&A, and exits. Key responsibilities include developing and executing fundraising strategy for portfolio companies—from market intelligence and investor identification through due diligence and term sheet negotiation. You'll establish yourself as a trusted advisor on the full funding lifecycle, helping companies achieve business development milestones and customer traction before fundraising. You'll cultivate relationships with later-stage investors (venture, growth, crossover, secondary) and facilitate strategic introductions among portfolio companies, investors, and potential acquirers. You'll also provide advisory support on market trends, M&A strategy, and IPO preparation. Internally, you'll collaborate with investment, IR, and marketing teams to identify investment opportunities, develop thought leadership, and source suitable LPs for direct investment. Success means learning the portfolio deeply, building a network of lead investors, attending relevant industry events, and helping companies prepare data rooms and financial models. This is a senior individual contributor role requiring 10+ years of capital-raising expertise, ideally from investment banking, corporate development, or venture capital backgrounds. You need a strong network, excellent communication skills, creative problem-solving ability, and the capacity to manage complex stakeholder relationships. The role is based in Palo Alto with approximately 20% travel per quarter. Salary range: $300,000–$425,000 annually.
