Helsing is a defence AI company on a mission to protect democracies through technological leadership. As an Obsolescence Manager, you will safeguard the long-term availability and mission-readiness of defence systems across their full lifecycle. Your primary responsibility is to identify, assess, and monitor obsolescence risks in both hardware and software components. You will develop and implement prevention and mitigation strategies to reduce unplanned redesigns and protect system availability. Working across engineering, procurement, and service teams, you will ensure critical components remain supportable and platforms stay mission-ready throughout their operational life. Key responsibilities include: - Conducting comprehensive obsolescence risk assessments across hardware and software throughout product lifecycles - Developing prevention and mitigation strategies, including supplier and component monitoring programs - Coordinating with engineering, procurement, and service teams to secure long-term supportability of fielded systems - Performing active market surveillance and applying regulatory requirements (including Germany's Market Surveillance Act) to sourcing and compliance decisions - Using obsolescence management databases and market intelligence to anticipate risks before they reach the field - Ensuring technology remains sustained, available, and dependable over years of service This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a mission-driven defence technology environment. You will contribute directly to keeping critical systems operational and reliable.
